Welcome to Steel Trappings! Steel Trappings is a public resource center for anyone interested in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. Steep Trappings will periodically publish online information that is of interest to steel guitar enthusiasts and authored by some of the industry's most respected steel guitarists, musicians, researchers. and others who have information to share. It is hoped that this information will pique the interest of anyone having an interest in the instrument and inspire and motivate them to learn more about this instrument which almost disappeared from the Hawaiian culture.
This newsletter will contain regular features by HIMELE directors, news about Hawaiian steel guitar festivals, steel guitar tablature, columns by special guests, a column specifically targeted to young steel guitar players, equipment reviews, an events calendar, and other pertinent news items.
Steel Trappings is published by HIMELE, the Hawaiian Institute for Music Education and Learning Experiences, as a public service. Please enjoy the news posts and come back often!
