This hollow metal body guitar was chromed silver and is a favorite among players and collectors because of its striking looks and powerful sound!
In 1930, George Beauchamp was a musician - inventor seeking to electrify the acoustic Hawaiian steel guitar.
After months of trial and error, he developed an electro-magnetic guitar pickup that consisted of two horseshoe magnets made of tungsten steel.
The guitar's strings passed through these magnets and vibrated over a coil of magnetic pole pieces... Instant volume!
