Guyatone began production in 1933 and is one of the earliest guitar manufacturers in Japan. It was founded by Mitsuo Matsuki, a cabinet maker's assistance.
Matsuki enrolled in electronics classes to learn how to build electric guitars, and in 1951 began to use the Guyatone name on electric steel guitars.
This guitar is a copy of the Fender Stringmaster double neck steel guitar. It has a good old vintage vibe, although players do not all agree as to the sound quality of the electromagnetic pickups.
Collectors affectionately call this guitar the "poor man's Stringmaster."
