Waikīkī Steel Guitar Festival Postponed

The Waikīkī Steel Guitar Festival scheduled for August 28 has been postponed.
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi today issued new directives suspending large gatherings on O‘ahu for four weeks beginning Wednesday. The Royal Hawaiian Center, venue and host for the festival, revised their cultural programming to address the Mayor's announcement and canceled most Special Events scheduled for the next four weeks.
HIMELE is working with the center to determine a new Festival date.
The Livestream Steel Guitar Saturdays presentation of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcase will be livestreamed beginning at 3:00 PM Hawaiian Standard Time with a revised program which is expected to include steel guitarists Alan Akaka, Bobby Ingano, and Greg Sardinha.
