Performance signups for upcoming Hawaiian steel guitar festivals are now open.

Kona Steel Guitar Festival

Steel guitarists and/or steel guitar bands wishing to perform on the Kona Steel Guitar Festival's Open Stage are invited to visit the festival's website for additional information and signup instructions. The Open stage program will be presented on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:30 to around 3:30 PM HST.

Open stage participants must either be a Hawaiian steel guitarist or a group with a Hawaiian steel guitar. Uncompensated performances are 30 minutes including setup and teardown. Participants should have at least 20 minutes of Hawaiian music and be prepared to introduce their performance to the audience. Backup musicians are available if requested.

Japan-Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival

Performance signups are also open for the Japan-Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival's main program. Performers must be a Hawaiian steel guitarist or a group with a Hawaiian steel guitar. The primary performer must reside in Japan.

The Japan-Hawaiian steel guitar festival will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, beginning at 4:00 PM HST as a part of the annual Waikīkī Steel Guitar Week. The event will be livestreamed.
