The 2025 Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival at Windward Mall

The 2025 Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival at Windward Mall will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Windward Mall's center stage. Performances will begin at 11:00 AM and run through 3:00 PM. The event will be livestreamed on the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcase's Facebook page and YouTube channel.

This year's festival, the eighth in a series of annual festivals held at the Windward Mall, will include performances by Alan Akaka, Pono Fernandez, Bobby Ingano, Mālie Lyman, Greg Sardinha and Po‘okela, Kalei Yamanoha, and community group Nā Kūpuna o Ko‘olau.

NextGen steel guitarists Isaac Woodward, Hi‘ipoi Lindsey, Enosa Lyman, Tai Misailidis, Makamae Lyu-Napoleon, and Isabella Bertelmann will also perform.

A "hands-on" opportunity will also be offered as a part of the festival for those guests wanting a personal experience with the steel guitar. An experienced steel guitarist will be available to provide assistance and answer questions about the steel guitar.

This year's festival lineup includes former NextGen steel guitarists Pono Fernandez and Mālie Lyman. Both have graduated from high school and are now designated as NextGen Alumni. Both continue to pursue their interest in the steel guitar.

Emcee for the festival will be Jake Fernandez.
